Help us reach our goal of raising $10,000 for our 23rd year!

Together We Create A Special Neighborhood

Incepted over twenty years ago, the Neighbors Helping Neighbors Group (made up of neighbor families from the Rolling Ridge and Meadowbrook subdivisions in Waukesha) is honored to once again be able to help our fellow neighbors who are going through hard times.

Circa the year 2000, during a neighborhood Friends-Giving Dinner (like Thanksgiving Dinner, but hosted among friends), the moments of reflections on blessings and giving thanks culminated in a collective decision to make an in-person donation at The FOOD Pantry Serving Waukesha County. Seeing the extent of need within our community – and the gamut of people impacted, in person, was shocking and humbling. As a result, we resolved to expand our efforts the following year, and from this the annual Neighbors Helping Neighbors effort was born. Over the years we have raised well over $100,000 and over 100,000 pounds of food.

The decades-long Neighbors Helping Neighbors effort has not only provided ongoing support to those in need, but has also served as an opportunity to teach our families about caring for others. It has allowed volunteers – adults and children alike - to see how their efforts have directly improved lives; it has shown time and again that no act is too small to make a difference; and it has revealed that in combining efforts in acts of service, there is an invaluable richness of connection and camaraderie. It has served as a living model of what it is to be a community, planting seeds in hearts and minds of the next generation of young adults to bring to the communities in which they will live.

Although we are fully online this year and last, in our longstanding tradition of commitment to the community, we continue to raise funds and awareness to address hunger and food insecurity of our neighbors – struggles that are, more often than not, hidden.

Thank you for considering a donation to support our neighbors facing food insecurity. Your past gifts have made a meaningful difference, and together, we can continue making an impact. A gift of any amount matters.
